Application
To determine the adherence and thedurability of protective coverings on printed circuit board and of insulatinglayers on accessible hazardous parts or metal parts.
Scratches are made across five pairsof conducting parts and the intervening separations at points where theseparations will be subject to the maximum potential gradient during the tests.
The Scratched are made by means of ahardened steel pin, the end of which has the form of a cone having a tip angleof 40°, its tip being rounded and polished, with a radius of 0.25mm±0.02mm.Scratches are made by drawing the pin along the surface in a planeperpendicular to the conductor edges at a speed 20mm/s±5mm/s, the pin is soloaded that the force exerted along its axis is 10N±0.5N.The scratches shall beat least 5mm apart and at least 6mm form the edge of the specimen.
