Apparatus for Testing Cord Retention (Model:SFT S2-1306)
Application
Apparatusfor testing cord retention is for check the effectiveness of the retention ofthe cable of the cord anchorage .
The cordanchorage is used in the normal way, clamping screws, if any, being tightenedwith a torque equal to two-thirds of that specified in standard.
Afterreassembly of the specimen, the component parts shall fit snugly and it shallnot be possible to push the flexible cable into the specimen to any appreciableextent. The specimen is placed in the test apparatus so that the axis of theflexible cable is vertical where it enters the specimen.
The flexiblecable is then subjected 100 times to a pull of
–50 N if therated current is 2,5 A,
–60 N if therated current is above 2,5 A, but not more than 16 A and the rated voltage isup to and including 250 V,
–80 N if therated current is above 2,5 A, but not more than 16 A and the rated voltage isabove 250 V,
–100 N if therated current greater than 16 A.
