Tumbling Barrel Tester (Model:SFT S2-1060)
Application
The Tumbling Barrel Test simulates repeated falls which may occurto such devices as connectors or small remote control units which are normally attachedto cables during use.
The Tumbling Barrel Tester is the recommended instrument to perform such atest. A barrel is turned at a rate of five revolutions per minute resulting inten falls per minute. The sample falls from a height of 500mm on to a steel plate that is 3mm thick and backed by 19mm thick hardwood(different test standard different request). The number offalls is set by the user in accordance to the standard they are meeting. Afterthe tumble barrel procedure, the specimen is checked visually, mechanically,and electrically as prescribed in the relevant specification.
Instrument
The SFT S2-1060 Tumbling Barrel Testeris made to the specifications set forth in major international standards. Thebarrel is made of 1.5mm thicksteel as specified. Many competitive barrels are made of wood. The drop heightis 500mm onto a 3mm thick steel plate backed by 19mm thick hardwood (different test standard different request).
