Steel Needle of liquid-filled toys (Model:SFT S1-2106)
Test leakage of liquid-filled toys.
Conditionthe toy at a temperature of (37 ± 1) °C for 4 h or more.
Within 30 sof removing the toy from conditioning, apply a force of 5 N to the externalsurface of the toy through a steel needle with a diameter of (1 ± 0,05) mm andwith a tip radius of (0,5 ± 0,05) mm.
Apply theforce gradually within a period of 5 s. Maintain the force for 5 s.
Aftercompletion, examine the toy for leakage of the contents. In determiningleakage, apply cobalt-chloride paper over the area where the force was appliedwhile elsewhere compressing with a force of 5 N using suitable means other thana needle.
Repeat thetest after conditioning the toy at a temperature of (5 ± 1) °C for 4 h or more.
NOTE Cobalt-chloridepaper should not be used after the 5 °C test as condensation may give falseresults.
Aftercompletion, visually examine the toy and determine whether leakage of itscontents has occurred.
